Peters forwent the opportunity to train as a vet to start his engine career at a Porsche specialist. Not long afterwards he joined the TWR Group C team and he was there from 1986 until 1990. Starting as a sub-assembly technician he became an engine builder in Allan Scott’s department, which prepared the Jaguar V12 for Group C racing.
From TWR Peters went to GT Services, to prepare engines for the UK and French Formula Renault series. After five years he switched to the rival Redgrave Racing team, then in 1995 he joined Geoff Richardson’s engine building company. He founded Pride Race Engineering in 2003.
